Flint Castle

Flint Castle and walks

Begun in 1277, one of the first castles to be built in Wales by King Edward I. It’s most impressive feature is a solitary round tower, isolated from the rest of the inner ward and seen in Shakespeare’s Richard II.

  1. Well worth a visit

Climb to the top of the Keep for great views across the Dee Estuary. Take a picnic and go for a walk along the coast. Free to enter and well worth visiting.
