Forage & Feast at The Forge

Join American foraging expert, Sara Bir, from Ohio, USA on this fun and educational afternoon of foraging and feasting!

We are thrilled to have Sara join us for this event as part of her 2019 UK Book Tour. Sara is the author of The Fruit Forager’s Companion and Tasting Ohio which both celebrate the culinary possibilities of wild food and the benefits of reconnecting with nature.

The afternoon will start at 2pm, meeting at The Forge, from where we will go for a wander to explore and forage the different wild plant species. Jamie Corry from the Wild Bushcraft Company will also accompany Sara to impart his wisdom on the different plant uses and folklore.

Then at around 4pm we will gather around the camp kitchen to turn our foraged plants into a feast! Guided by Sara and Jamie you will learn how to prepare and cook different wild foods before having the opportunity to relax and enjoy the different flavours and textures around the campfire.

Cost is £10 per head – please bring cash with you on the day. Children and well-behaved dogs are very welcome! We are also very happy to cater for vegans, vegetarians and gluten free diets.
