Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod

Wales' most diverse festival

Six days of the best music and folk dance, and the whole world in one place! If you’ve never been before, the short promotional film made by our television partners Rondo media will give you a flavour of the festival.

Every summer since 1947 Llangollen has staged one of the world’s most inspirational cultural festivals. Each year around 4,000 performers and as many as 50,000 visitors converge on this beautiful small Welsh town and its International Pavilion; to sing and dance in a unique combination of competition, performance, and international peace and friendship.

Its competitions climax with the prestigious ‘Choir of the World’, which determines the best overall choir of the event. In 2005 Luciano Pavarotti added his name to the competition in recognition of his appreciation of the festival and its influence on his career.

Evening concerts are priced separately, visit the Evening Concerts page to book tickets.

The ground opens at 8.30am and activities finish by 7pm. Day Grounds Tickets will be available to buy online in Spring 2019.

Day Grounds Ticket gives you full access to the grounds, stalls, outdoor stages, activities and the option to sit in the red seating area of the Pavilion to enjoy the competitions.
