Santes Dwynwen ydi nawddsant cariadon Cymru, ac rydym ni\u2019n dathlu Diwrnod Santes Dwynwen ar 25 Ionawr.<\/p>\n

Ond pwy oedd Santes Dwynwen?<\/p>\n

Yn \u00f4l y chwedl, ganwyd Dwynwen yn y pumed ganrif yn nheyrnas Brycheiniog yn ferch i\u2019r brenin Brychan Brycheiniog. Roedd ganddo 24 o ferched a Dwynwen oedd yr harddaf yn eu plith.<\/p>\n

Blodeuodd Dwynwen yn ferch hardd a disgynnodd Maelon Dafodrill, brenin o\u2019r gogledd, mewn cariad \u00e2 hi. Ac roedd hithau\u2019n ei garu yntau hefyd. Fodd bynnag, roedd gan ei thad \u0175r arall mewn golwg iddi ac felly roedd yn llwyr yn erbyn iddi briodi Maelon. Rhedodd Dwynwen i ffwrdd ac arni ofn anufuddhau i\u2019w thad, ond aeth Maelon ar ei h\u00f4l a digiodd pan wrthododd ei briodi. Gwedd\u00efodd Dwynwen ar Dduw am gael ei rhyddhau o\u2019i chariad ac ar \u00f4l syrthio i gysgu\u2019r noson honno ymddangosodd angel gyda diod hud iddi. Ar \u00f4l yfed y ddiod hud anghofiodd Dwynwen bopeth am ei chariad a throdd Maelon yn lwmp o rew. Yna rhoddodd Duw dri dymuniad iddi.<\/p>\n

\"St<\/p>\n

Ei dymuniad cyntaf oedd dadmer Maelon; ei hail ddymuniad oedd gweld Duw yn cyflawni gobeithion a breuddwydion gwir gariadon; a\u2019i thrydydd dymuniad oedd peidio \u00e2 phriodi. Cafodd ei dymuniadau eu hateb, ac i ddiolch am hynny cysegrodd Dwynwen weddill ei hoes i Dduw. Roedd arni eisiau treulio ei hamser yn helpu\u2019r rheiny oedd mewn poen cariad.<\/p>\n

Felly gyda\u2019i chwaer Cain a\u2019i brawd Dyfnan teithiodd o gwmpas Cymru yn pregethu ac yn sefydlu aneddiadau Cristnogol.<\/p>\n

Sefydlodd hefyd leiandy ar Ynys Llanddwyn ar Ynys M\u00f4n, a daeth ffynnon ar yr ynys a enwyd ar ei h\u00f4l yn fan poblogaidd i bererinion ar \u00f4l ei marwolaeth yn 465AD. Credodd yr ymwelwyr bod pysgod y ffynnon sanctaidd yn gallu darogan tynged cariadon. Mae cwlt Dwynwen wedi goroesi\u2019r canrifoedd gyda phobl yn mynd ar bererin i Ynys Llanddwyn, yn enwedig os oedd ganddyn nhw broblemau gyda\u2019u bywyd carwriaethol, i wedd\u00efo ar Santes Dwynwen ac i ymweld \u00e2\u2019i ffynnon sanctaidd.<\/p>\n

Mae olion yr hen eglwys yno hyd heddiw, ac fe gynhelir gwasanaeth ynddi pob blwyddyn. Beth am wylio\u2019r fideo<\/a> yma o Ynys Llanddwyn. Mae Llanddwyn yn rhan o Lwybr Arfordir Ynys M\u00f4n ac yn fan poblogaidd iawn i fynd am dro.<\/p>\n
