Yr wythnos hon rydym am eich cyflwyno i dref hardd Llangollen. Ymhen mis, dyma fydd y lle i fod, wrth iddi groesawu\u2019r byd i Eisteddfod Gerddorol Ryngwladol Llangollen<\/a>.  Dechreuodd yn 1947 gyda\u2019r weledigaeth y gallai\u2019r hen draddodiad eisteddfodol Cymreig fod yn fodd i wella clwyfau\u2019r Ail Ryfel Byd, drwy hybu heddwch parhaol. Mae cystadleuwyr bellach yn teithio yno o bob rhan o’r byd i gymryd rhan.  Mae eleni yn arbennig o gyffrous gydag amrywiaeth o berfformwyr enwog<\/a> yn darparu adloniant ar bob noson o’r wythnos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cychwynnodd ein taith i mewn i Langollen o ddyffryn Ceiriog ac wrth i ni deithio i lawr yr allt serth ar hyd y lonydd coediog yng ngolau\u2019r haul, daeth yr olygfa fwyaf godidog o Langollen i\u2019r amlwg yn dangos haenau ar haenau o hanes.\u00a0 O ddechrau’r 13eg ganrif mae Castell Dinas Bran yn sefyll dros y dref i darren galchfaen Eglwyseg sy\u2019n codi\u2019n uchel dros y mynydd grug y tu \u00f4l iddo.\u00a0 Mae’r calchfaen carbonifferaidd, a elwir yn lleol yn Panorama, tua 330 miliwn o flynyddoedd oed, ac mae braciopodau ffosil a chwrelau i\u2019w canfod yno.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wrth yrru\u2019n is i mewn i Langollen ar hyd Heol y Bryn, cyn i ni gyrraedd y ffordd a elwir yn lleol yn Grapes Hill, awn heibio mynedfa Plas Newydd<\/a>.\u00a0 Dechreuodd y t\u0177 a\u2019r gerddi hardd hwn ei fywyd fel bwthyn, cyn cael ei drawsnewid yn \u2018ffantasi\u2019 gothig gan ei drigolion enwocaf \u2013 \u2018Boneddigesau Llangollen\u2019. Gadawodd y Fonesig Eleanor Butler a Miss Sarah Ponsonby Iwerddon yn 1778 i sefydlu cartref ym Mhlas Newydd am hanner canrif.\u00a0 Roeddent yn enwog am eu gwisg anarferol yn ogystal \u00e2’u cartref hynod, a chawsant westeion nodedig gan gynnwys Dug Wellington, Wordsworth, Shelley, Syr Walter Scott, a Josiah Wedgewood. Mae ymwelwyr yn dal i gael eu swyno, ac adolygiadau Trip Advisor yn nodi \u2018Unigryw ac yn werth ymweld ag o\u2019, \u2018Darlun Syfrdanol\u2019 a \u2018Bythgofiadwy\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mae Llangollen mewn Ardal o Harddwch Naturiol Eithriadol, ac mae\u2019n hawdd gweld pam. Mae yna haen o niwl sy’n gorwedd o amgylch yr ardal goediog y tu hwnt i brysurdeb y dref, sy\u2019n rhoi awyrgylch dyffryn alpaidd iddi.\u00a0 Mae dyfroedd gwyllt hardd yr afon Dyfrdwy yn nodwedd fawr sy’n croesi’r bont o’r 16eg ganrif, un o saith rhyfeddod Cymru. Oddi yma gallwch weld Rheilffordd Treftadaeth Llangollen i Gorwen<\/a>, a ddechreuwyd gan gr\u0175p o wirfoddolwyr yn 1975, yn raddol ffurfio\u2019r atyniad eithriadol a welwch heddiw.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fel y gallwch ddychmygu mae Llangollen yn lle gwych ar gyfer antur.\u00a0 Ar Parade Street, fe welwch Bearded Men Adventures<\/a> sy’n cynnig gweithgareddau fel rafftio d\u0175r gwyn, can\u0175io ar y draphont dd\u0175r, cerdded hafnau, tiwbiau afon, saethyddiaeth a thaflu bwyeill a mwy. Gweithgareddau diwrnod llawn a hanner diwrnod, anturiaethau aml-ddiwrnod a phart\u00efon plu a cheiliog (nid yw barf yn orfodol!)
