Mae swydd Sam fel Swyddog y Gylfinir a Phobl ar gyfer Cysylltu Gylfinir Cymru * yn rhan o brosiect 3 blynedd i gydweithio\u2019n agos gyda thirfeddianwyr i wella poblogaeth y gylfinir sy\u2019n prinhau. Eglurodd Sam fod nifer y gylfinir wedi lleihau\u2019n sylweddol oherwydd torri dolydd gwair yn ddwys ar gyfer silwair ac oherwydd coedwigaeth ac ysglyfaethu. Pwrpas y prosiect yn rhannol yw adnabod safleoedd nythu ac yna eu monitro a\u2019u hamddiffyn gyda ffensys trydan er mwyn i\u2019r oedolion fagu\u2019r wyau a\u2019r cywion bach nes eu bod yn barod i hedfan y nyth. Oherwydd bod y nythod ar y tir, maent mewn perygl o ysglyfaethwyr megis moch daear a llwynogod. Y cynefin mwyaf cyffredin yw glaswelltir wedi\u2019i led wella, rhostir sych a chorsydd mawn.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mae gwirfoddolwyr a ffermwyr wedi bod yn rhan fawr o ddod o hyd i\u2019r safleoedd o fewn y \u201812 Ardal Gylfinir Bwysig\u2019 penodol. Rhan o waith Sam yw annog ffermwyr i addasu eu harferion ffermio i ganiat\u00e1u i\u2019r nythod ffynnu. Hyd yma mae 40 o ffermwyr wedi cymryd rhan yn y cam monitro ac mae 25 yn gallu rhoi cefnogaeth bellach i\u2019r gwanwyn a\u2019r haf. Yn ffermwr ei hun, mae Sam yn deall yr heriau o gydbwyso cadwraeth ac elw. Mae rhai ffermwyr wedi bod yn eithriadol o gefnogol ac wedi bod wrth eu boddau\u2019n gweld y gylfinir ar eu caeau. Maent wedi gallu dynodi 6 ardal fagu brysur yn Rhydtalog a Rhostir a phentref Llandegla ym Mynyddoedd y Berwyn uwchben Llandrillo a Dyffryn Morwynion, Glyn Ceiriog, Dyffryn Dyfrdwy a Mynydd Mynyllod. Drwy\u2019r prosiect, maent wedi gallu dynodi bron i 40 o barau o\u2019r gylfinir. Bydd 38 erw o laswelltir cynhyrchiol ar chwe fferm yn cael eu gadael heb eu torri i annog y gylfinir i fagu. Bydd y ffermydd hyn yn cael eu had-dalu i gydnabod eu rhan yn y prosiect yn ogystal \u00e2 30 erw o gaeau gwair bras y mae eu perchnogion wedi cytuno i\u2019w torri\u2019n hwyrach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Er mwyn cynnal poblogaeth gylfinir y DU, byddai\u2019n rhaid i bob p\u00e2r fagu 3 chyw bob 5 mlynedd.\u00a0 Ar hyn o bryd, hyd yn oed gyda chymorth gwirfoddolwyr a ffermwyr, oherwydd cyfraddau goroesi isel y cywion, mae\u2019r gyfradd bresennol o barau a nodwyd yn un ym mhob pum mlynedd yn unig. Mae tymheredd tymhorol isel a nifer isel o bryfed y maen nhw\u2019n bwydo arnynt a phoblogaeth uchel o ysglyfaethwyr i gyd yn effeithio\u2019n andwyol ar lwyddiant y cywion i ddatblygu\u2019n oedolion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mae Sam a gweddill y t\u00eem wedi llwyddo i rannu eu neges \u00e2 dros 10,000 o bobl drwy eu hymgysylltu cymunedol. Fodd bynnag, mae angen mwy o addysg am y perygl i\u2019r Gylfinir yn ogystal ag addysgu pobl i helpu bywyd gwyllt a da byw\u2019n gyffredinol drwy gadw c\u0175n ar dennyn a chadw\u2019n ddigon pell o diroedd magu. Mae cadw at lwybrau troed, yn enwedig ar dir amaethyddol yn hynod o bwysig fel y gallwn roi cyfle i\u2019r Gylfinir.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mae *Cysylltu Gylfinir Cymru yn brosiect cadwraeth a gefnogir gan \u2018Gronfa Rhwydweithiau Natur\u2019 Llywodraeth Cymru, trwy Gronfa Treftadaeth y Loteri. Mae miliwn o bunnoedd wedi ei ddyrannu i gefnogi’r gylfinir sy\u2019n bridio yng Nghymru, yn canolbwyntio ar dair \u2018Ardal Gylfinir Bwysig\u2019. Ar y cyd, mae GWCT yn arwain yn Sir Drefaldwyn ochr yn ochr \u00e2 phartneriaid yn Ardal o Harddwch Naturiol Eithriadol Bryniau Clwyd a Dyffryn Dyfrdwy a Pharc Cenedlaethol Bannau Brycheiniog.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nod Cysylltu Gylfinir Cymru yw mynd i\u2019r afael \u00e2\u2019r materion allweddol sy\u2019n achosi\u2019r dirywiad yn y gylfinir, mae monitro a deall poblogaethau’r gylfinir yn yr ardaloedd hyn, gweithredu rheolaeth ysglyfaethwyr a gwaith cynefin yn flaenllaw. Wrth ragweld y bydd y gylfinir bridio wedi diflannu yng Nghymru erbyn 2033, agwedd bwysig ar y gwaith yw cysylltu\u2019r tirlun a phobl gyda\u2019r adar eiconig hyn.
