Now we are in local lockdown of the three counties that makes up North East Wales it’s more important than ever that we support our local businesses and attractions through another difficult period.

We can still travel within our own county and therefore still support local restaurants, pubs, cafes and shops.

If you have a favourite local shop, café or restaurant that you feel is special or a hidden gem please email feature them here. We are also particularly keen to find out where welcomes dogs as we are hoping to write a feature about this soon.

A great example of an independent shop is  Pethau Tlws in Corwen, has a range of  unique locally made gifts for your loved ones, your home and yourself.

In Denbighshire our heritage attractions such as Ruthin Gaol and Nantclwyd y Dre are still open in Ruthin, as is Ruthin Craft Centre and Sc2  with Ninja Tag on the coast.

A Covid compliant jailer at Ruthin Gaol.

Did you know what Denbigh Castle has opened its doors Thursday to Monday 10am to 5pm free to Denbighshire residents?

We have coffee shops, cafés and restaurants to suit every style and pocket and to rival any trendy urban area, just take your pick but check whether you need to book beforehand.

Oak Street Coffee shop in Llangollen has lots of vegan, gluten and dairy free choices.

We often don’t explore or become a tourist in our own locality so why not take this opportunity to view where you live through fresh eyes and see what delights you can uncover.
