Where do we begin? You can fly somewhere over the rainbow in a hot air balloon. You can look for dragons in enchanted forests. Or shop for cheese at one of our food festivals. Whatever floats your boat – you’ll find it here.
Want to see castles? Edward I built castles all over our corner of Wales. The one at Denbigh is beautiful – like a melting wedding cake. Wildlife? We have kites, we have exotic Waterfowl, we have otters – we even have llamas and pot-bellied pigs at Ty Mawr Country Park. And if churches are your thing, don’t miss All Saints in Gresford. It’s been said that architecture is frozen music and if that’s true, All Saints really is Land of My Fathers set in stone.

Welsh lamb straight off the Clwydian Range. Fresh trout, hooked in the Ceiriog. Beers from the wood. And you can dine anywhere from a stately home to a little cafe in a country town surrounded by farmers who’ve come down to the hills for market day. There are swanky bistros in Wrexham and Ruthin. You’ll never go hungry in our numerous pubs either – and they really are wonderfully friendly. And if you want some drama with your dinner – catch a show and some haute cuisine at Clwyd Theatr Cymru in Mold. That’s a great night out – and productions are performed in English and Welsh.
If you’re here a few days, you could enjoy a packed itinerary. If you don’t quite manage everything, we’d love to welcome you back another time. From the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct and Llangollen Canal, to the Clwydian Range. From the big name shops in Wrexham to the smaller shops and local produce in Mold. There’s beautiful Llangollen, where Wales welcomes the world. There’s castles, coast and forests. We’re sure you might need to visit more than once.
