Grug a’r Bryngaerau

Mae grug a bryngaerau yn ddwy o nodweddion mwyaf trawiadol bryniau Clwyd a Mynydd Llandysilio.

Mae’r rhostir grug porffor nodweddiadol sy’n garpedi ucheldir Clwyd yn cyfrannu at greu ei harddwch eithriadol ac mae’n gynefin gwerthfawr i fywyd gwyllt yn ogystal â darparu tir pori ar gyfer defaid. Mae rhostir yr ucheldir yn cynnwys clytwaith o rug, llus, eithin a rhedyn, cynefin sydd o bwysigrwydd Ewropeaidd. Mae’n gartref i gymuned arbennig o adar sy’n nythu ar yr ucheldir fel y grugiar ddu brin, y grugiar goch, y boda tinwyn, y gors, y Gwyniad a’r wheatear.

Mae’r dirwedd yn dal ôl-troed cymunedau a diwylliannau’r gorffennol. Yn dominyddu’r nenlinell Mae’r gadwyn eithriadol o fryngaerau o’r oes haearn 2,500 mlwydd oed, un o’r crynodiadau uchaf o’r fath yn Ewrop. Mae grug a bryngaerau bryniau Clwyd yn ffurfio sail prosiect treftadaeth mawr yn yr ardal. Nod y prosiect yw gwarchod ac adfer treftadaeth naturiol a hanesyddol yr ardal a hybu mwy o ddealltwriaeth a mwynhad o’r ucheldiroedd hyn ymysg trigolion ac ymwelwyr fel ei gilydd. Mae’r cyfuniad o dreftadaeth naturiol a hanesyddol bryniau Clwyd a Mynydd Llanttysilio yn creu tirwedd gwbl unigryw sy’n cael ei werthfawrogi’n fawr am ei harddwch, ei fywyd gwyllt a’i archaeoleg, sy’n dal i gael ei ddarganfod gan lawer.
